Company
Founded in Berlin, autarc is a 15 person start-up who were part of Y Combinator’s S24 batch in San Francisco. Our team consists of people in Sales, Tech and Operations, with the Engineering department currently 6 people and looking to grow to 11 by Q2 2025.
Role description
As the company plans to expand its operations for other renewable energy sources beyond heat pumps, we will also build another team who serve the same function but for solar-based services.
As part of a third product development team, you will be working alongside the CTO to work on integrations to autarc's software, including the likes of HubSpot and Slack. There will be a high demand to keep up with the demand of tools our customer base uses outside of the autarc app, in making it as seamless as possible to their daily activities.
This role would be more Backend focused (70-80%), given you will be mapping out data and configuring this between systems. Your first job would be to build a Web Hook so that notifications on changes are automated, then drawing together other platforms that are used by installation companies to make autarc's product compatible. This also includes the import and export of 3D scans.
50% of the 'Backend' work will be writing Backend code, and the other 50% Database, using Nest, Express and Node. The Frontend work would be to build a UI for buttons and icons.
Next steps
If your application is successful, you will participate in the following:
- Screening call with Louis (Recruiter)
- Culture fit call with Marius (CTO)
- Take home coding challenge (approx. 2-4 hours)
- Final on-site interview with Marius (CTO) and the team
About us
Right now, 25% of CO2 emissions in Europe are caused by heating our buildings. In order for this to be reduced, the transition towards renewable energy needs to be simplified and made more accessible. There are too few installers to meet the growing demand for heat pumps, and a solution to match this trend needs to be brought to the market.
autarc is developing the leading operating system (OS) for heat pump installers, enabling a more digital and efficient installation process for heat pumps.
Through this, autarc is reducing the hurdles to decarbonizing single-family homes and small apartment buildings in Europe, with the goal to help with the planning and designing of 1 million heat pumps by 2030.
