Company
Founded in Berlin, autarc is a ~40 person start-up who were part of Y Combinator’s S24 batch in San Francisco. Our team consists of people in Sales, Tech and Operations, with the Engineering & Product department currently ~20 people, as we continue to grow throughout the year.
Role description
This role is to join our Heat team, who are focused on the very thing that autarc set out to achieve when we were founded 2 years ago. Our primary customer market are heat pump installers, and building an OS to serve this community is what led us to where we are today, with us needing to strengthen the squad that is behind this.
You will be exposed to working on something 1-10, as an early member in our journey. You’ll be continuously involved in decision making, as opposed to having narrow and machine-like tasks in a larger organisation where you will need to contribute towards defining roadmaps and mentoring other members of squad. This work will consist of building UI links and widgets, mapping out data and correlating systems so that they work seamlessly. As our user base grows, and in a bid to stay ahead of competition, our OS needs to be continuously optimised in ensuring that when a customer uses our app, they have everything they need in one place, from admin panels, documentation and scheduling, through to image processing, rendering and offline capabilities.
Other responsibilities will include:
- Creating Frontend applications in React
- Focusing on flawless Frontend designs and UI
- Interacting with the Design team to improve UX
- Building a sync engine for offline use
- Setting up servers
- Be hands-on in designing, coding and testing cycles for both existing and new features
- Develop B2B SaaS applications
- Have a high level of responsibility to turn ideas into performant and reliable code
This role is Fullstack and Frontend leaning, with an 80/20 split.
Next steps
If your application is successful, you will participate in the following:
- Screening call with Louis (Recruiter)
- Culture fit call with a Senior Engineer
- Pair programming/live coding exercise
- Final on-site interview with Marius (CTO) and the team
About us
Right now, 25% of CO2 emissions in Europe are caused by heating our buildings. In order for this to be reduced, the transition towards renewable energy needs to be simplified and made more accessible. There are too few installers to meet the growing demand for heat pumps, and a solution to match this trend needs to be brought to the market.
autarc is developing the leading operating system (OS) for heat pump installers, enabling a more digital and efficient installation process for heat pumps.
Through this, autarc is reducing the hurdles to decarbonizing single-family homes and small apartment buildings in Europe, with the goal to help with the planning and designing of 1 million heat pumps by 2030.
